Clean Streets?

So if you didn't know last week there was some big news coming out of Boston:
1)The Patriots won the Super bowl
2)It snowed.....a lot!
C) Boston Mayor Marty Walsh within an hour of the Patriots winning began removing what would amount to TONS of snow off of Boston streets to make way for the parade being thrown to celebrate the win, while other streets remained so choked with snow that kids couldn't go to school and people could not go to work.

Mind you, I am not political, nor do I follow sports.  I don't care who wins what, on the game field or at the ballot box.  This being the case, I don't bitch about political decisions because I choose not to influence them. The only reason I heard about this was people at work were complaining about it and I thought it was interesting.

The morning of the parade I turned on the television and the parade was all I saw...Gronk (however pleasant it is watching Gronk do anything) ripping the tops of beer cans with his teeth, twirking, and being a young person that just brought down a major win.  You know who else was watching.....the kids who couldn't get to school and their parents that had to miss a days work to stay home and watch them.

I know I sound like I'm offended by the favoring of the Pats, I don't want to be, but I think I am.  The MBTA was a mess, the roads and sidewalks were unsafe, all but the Pats parade route....sounds like a bad decision looking at it nearly a week later.

Now everything is plowed and cleared...with another storm coming....is there any sports parade happening next week, cuz maybe ill call out sick.

In the end, it just goes to show that we all still live in a straight mans world.

At least that's what I think.

"For the cause....?!"

Helloooooooooooo!

So in Boston this morning there was some drama!  You maybe heard?  If not....see below:

https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2015/01/15/protesters-block-traffic-southeast-express-northbound/G3aLvpDWRixI2I6SVyaErM/story.html

Essentially a handful of people decided that in order to call attention to racial oppression it would be a good idea to chain themselves to barrels (filled with something heavy) and lay down in the middle of the highway.

Now, like any other red blooded American I love drama....LOVE me some drams!  Some one tripping on the sidewalk, a woman walking up the street with her dress tucked into the back of her pantyhose.....well okay maybe those things aren't drama, but still....

Okay, okay....let me get serious.    I realize that there are people out there who take certain causes very seriously, and arguably there are some causes that need to taken seriously and racism by far is one of them.

However, I am not sure that anyone, from any race, that was stuck in traffic for the hours it took to get these people off of the road appreciated it, as in the end all it did was cause a nuisance, and they could have so easily been killed, or, caused accident.  There has got to have been  a better way for them to get their message across, no?!?!?!

So what do I think?  They may have had good intentions, but a little more thought should have been put into it.

PS....all -ISMS suck!

Every other shade of gray.

Depression sucks.

It just does!  It sucks the fun, joy and color out of every thing that is fun joyful and brilliant around you.

Being the hypo-manic person I am, there are times when, for no reason at all, depression descends.  It is not an overwhelming, drowning or suffocating depression.  But its the kind of thing that takes the happy edge off of everything in such a subtle way that there are times when I don't even know its happened and have to look back and say, "Oh ya, I think I was a little depressed."

The thing is, there are a lot of people who get depressed as a function of our brains.  Its not because he's an asshole or she's a bitch (although, it can certainly appear that way at times), and since none of us will ever know for sure how another person feels or perceives something, it can be really hard to understand.

I have begun to notice that when my mood is at its lower point I actually see things a little differently then I would normally and perceive them in a questionable if not negative way.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS!!  Coming out of this frame of mind, into an amazing summer day is one of the best experiences you can possibly know.  Its like everything has got color to the third power, everything smells 300 times better and being alive is so incredibly brilliant!!

Statistically more people suffer from some kind of depression than don't.  So the next time someone you know and love is off, being cranky, bitchie, or moody, give them some space and the benefit of the doubt as they are more than likely to come out of it on their own, and they will love you twice as much as ever afterwards.

Sometimes it takes seeing things in black and white to make you wonder at all the color.

Peace and such!

Bloggins is FUN!!

Blogging IS fun!  Aside from the usual writers block associated with specific topic blogging (ie, my WOW blog that is currently adrift in a topic-less sea), I thought it might be fun to start a more general blog that I can use to vent thoughts on, well, whatever I feel the urge to talk about, and more than the three or four sentences that usually compose a Facebook post.

So let me give you an idea of what may be coming in these posts.

People who have know me for a long time know that I am very immature, over-sensitive, in-sensitive, trite, and surly, while alternately being thoughtful, funny, insightful and on rare occasion, unusually wise.  These are all things that I want to bring to the table.  I am very aware of the fact that I am not perfect, and may post things that might be better left unposted.....OR I could go on for five paragraphs about how I hate my socks.  Movies, TV, media, news, the weather, animals, rain, my toes, my tummy, my eyes., people, places and vegetables!  Anything is fair game as well as my offering to anyone to make comment or suggestion!

So thats enough of an intro, I suppose.

I look forward to sharing myself with you all.
